Callie Heilmann founded Bridgeport Generation Now! in 2016 and serves as the President. She has many passions including community, cities, art, feminism, design, entrepreneurship, and education, and is an inspiring and effective leader. Callie, along with her two sisters, founded Hartford Prints!, an urban goods store ...and letterpress studio located in Hartford, where she continues to grow the store into a dynamic retail space. She and her husband, Niels, moved to Bridgeport in 2013 on a whim so they could live and raise their three sons in a city that shared their values of community and diversity. Some of Callie’s favorite Bridgeport moments are watching her children run and laugh at the splash pad at Seaside Park. She believes in the power of the people of Bridgeport to move the city toward positive social change.

Niels and Callie brought their family to Bridgeport to immerse themselves and raise their kids in a diverse community-oriented city. Niels's favorite thing about Bridgeport is the raw potential of its downtown to become a vibrant city center that ref...lects the myriad of cultures represented in the city's population. Neils believes that BPT Generation Now! is an exciting and open-ended story; and that improvements will span art, business, politics and more when civically engaged people get active. Niels is the founder and portfolio manager of Elion Investments, an investment firm focused on the healthcare sector.

Ashli was born at Bridgeport Hospital and has lived in the same condo on North Avenue since she was 2 years old. She graduated with honors from Central Magnet, then University of New Haven in 2015, and now works at a law firm in Bridgeport. Ashli is also involved in several local organizations including CT Community Or...ganizing for Racial Equity (CT CORE), Political Action Chair for Greater Bridgeport NAACP, Bethel A.M.E. Bridgeport, and the Friends Committee on National Legislation (FNCL). Ashli loves how Bridgeport is welcoming to all types of people, and how its diverse population brings unique perspectives, cultural cuisine, and new ideas to the city. Ashli was involved in the conception of Bridgeport Generation Now!, and currently leads the effort to get the youth in Bridgeport more civically engaged.

Maggie Gotterer serves as the Policy and Research Committee Chair for Bridgeport Generation Now! She is a nonprofit consultant, manager of B:Hive Bridgeport, Chair of the Bridgeport Food Policy Council, and a board member of Green Village Initiative. Maggie is motivated by working with the passionate, collaborative, an...d diverse people of Bridgeport to realize the potential of the local food system, nonprofits, and entrepreneurial visions. She is involved with Bridgeport Generation Now! because she believes that in a democracy, civic engagement is not optional, and people must educate themselves on civic issues.

Marcie Kovac, entrepreneur and explorer, serves as the Marketing and Branding Committee Chair for Bridgeport Generation Now! Marcie co-founded the B:Hive Bridgeport and is currently a partner at The Bananaland, a marketing, design, and development agency located in Downtown Bridgeport. She loves Bridgeport's diversity,... parks, spirit, waterfront, food, history, soul, creativity, innovation and above all, its people. Marcie chronicled Seaside Park as part of a passion project, The Seasides. She is energized by the inclusive, positive, and action-oriented group of Bridgeport Generation Now! that shares her optimism for the future of Bridgeport.
