Taste The Movement Was A Success!

We Can’t Do The Work Without You!

On May 17, 2019 we held our first annual Bridgeport Generation Now Fundraiser to support our movement! Your contributions help sustain the grassroots civic engagement programs you’ve come to expect from us.

It was a night out at Bridgeport’s The Discovery Museum and Planetarium, with a variety of cocktail party fare inspired by Bridgeport’s history and landmarks (Vegan options included) courtesy of Fortuna’s Catering Co.! Beer, wine and signature cocktails included, with coffee by Source Coffeehouse. [This event is 21+]

We also held a silent auction and a raffle with generous items donated by some of your fav Bridgeport people. The evening ended with music and dancing by DJ Dana Cobbs!

Our Esteemed Guest Speakers for the evening were Lennie Grimaldi of Only in Bridgeport and Maisa Tisdale of Mary & Eliza Freeman Center for History and Community. We also honored and recognize Bridgeport Civic Heroes – Netta Walker, Jazmarie Melendez, Marshall-Thompson Abdullah Anthony, and Senator Marilyn Moore – at this event!

In Gen Now, we focus on policy research, civic and political education, and community organizing. Our collective work lives at the intersection of community building, systems change, and self-determination. Our current organizing frames are democratic empowerment, good governance, justice, equity, and livability. Our vision is to collectively develop into local leaders who practice intersectionality, collective action, openness, ethics, and love.
