On Saturday, May 30th, we’re celebrating a decade of Bridgeport Generation Now!

Founded in May of 2016, Bridgeport Generation Now began as an all-volunteer grassroots social action network. At our very first meeting, we committed to increasing civic engagement in our city.

Over the years, our mission and purpose grew. Today, we organize to dismantle systemic corruption and racism so that we can build the just, equitable, democratic and livable Bridgeport we know is possible.

We have not done this work alone. Our collective wins are the result of deep relationships with people throughout our city and across the state.

People who have publicly supported our pro-democracy movement, who have quietly opened doors to help us build more power, who have bravely marched and rallied with us, and who have worked without recognition behind the scenes. In short, people who have gotten into good trouble alongside us!

Movements for change don’t happen overnight. And they do not triumph in silos. They are built on collective people power. And they are won by not giving up.

Ten years of good trouble is just the beginning! Join us!

The Good Trouble Awards & Party!

Join us on Saturday, May 30th for dinner, drinks, music and awards!

Since our founding, democracy has been under constant attack. Whether it was watching the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol or advocating to stop local election fraud, we have been at the forefront of pro-democracy organizing during some very dark and troubling times.

But, as they say, it is always darkest before the dawn. On Saturday, May 30th we will come together to celebrate the historic achievements of our community-driven grassroots organizing, activism, and civic education.

We’ll enjoy fabulous views of Bridgeport’s harbor and Long Island Sound at Downtown Bridgeport’s only rooftop venue, all while toasting to Bridgeport Generation Now’s decade-long movement for positive change!
